Obituary of Dolores A. Bloom
Dolores A. "Dody" Bloom, 81, formerly of 130 East Falconer St. Falconer, NY passed away at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday (October 24, 2012) in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center.
A lifelong area resident she was born January 22, 1931 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late Alpine "Piney" and Ruth Sigular Johnson.
She was a 1949 graduate of Jamestown High School.
Before her retirement she was employed as a nurse's aide for the former Presbyterian Home on the campus of Lutheran Social Services for several years. She was a communicant of Holy Apostles Parish at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church and was a Past Chief for the Ingjald Lodge # 65 Independent Order of the Vikings.
Surviving are her husband of 62 years, William E. Bloom whom she November 4, 1950, six children Lynn (Dale) Long of Jamestown, Debbie (Keith) Morano of Falconer, Brenda L. Bloom of South Carolina, William (Diana) Bloom of Jamestown, Nanci (Rick) Brady of Falconer, Gail (Dan) Barker of Jamestown, 21 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and her twin sisters Joanne Leber of Deland, FL, Ann Lou Gallagher of Niagara Falls, NY.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Alpine W. "Piney" Johnson, Jr. who died February 3, 2008.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Christ Chapel of Lutheran Social Services. The Rev. Daniel S. Rumfelt , pastor of the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center will officiate. Friends will be received following the service.
