Obituary of Elaine L. Kesby

Elaine L. Kesby, 78, formerly of 6 Glenview Ave. Jamestown, passed away at 10:10 a.m. Wednesday (November 21, 2012) in the Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. A lifelong area resident, she was born August 28, 1934 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late Sigfred and Mabel Gavert Carlson. Elaine was a graduate of Jamestown High School and the W.C.A. Hospital School of Nursing. In earlier years she was employed as a registered nurse for W.C.A. Hospital where she worked for 20 years. She was a longtime active member of the First Covenant Church where she enjoyed participating in many of the Women's Circles of the church. She was also a past member of the Allen Park Women's Club. Surviving is a daughter Linda Myers of Jamestown, two grandchildren Eric M. Lyons of Jamestown, Rebecca L. Ensminger of Ashville, and a great granddaughter Olivia G. Lyons of Jamestown. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Richard L. Kesby whom she married January 21, 1956 and who died January 14, 2006, two daughters Cheryl A. Kesby who died September 29, 1998, Barbara J. Kesby who died May 21, 2004 and a sister Dorothy Fey. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. Mr. David B. Larson, retired Director of Visitation for First Covenant Church will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
