Obituary of Mark A. Hess

Mark A. Hess, 59, of 137 Valleyview Avenue, died Sunday November 25, 2012, in UPMC Hamot Medical Center, Erie. A native of Jamestown, he was born May 25, 1953, a son of the late Allen and Agnes O'Brien Hess. He owned and operated Montagna's Furniture and earlier had worked in the tool and die industry for many years. He was a member of Jamestown Sertoma and the Little Valley Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed playing Santa Clause and Christmas time and co-sponsoring the City of Jamestown Easter Egg Hunt. Surviving are his wife the former Roberta York, whom he married September 2, 1972; a daughter Ashley Hess of Ashville; a brother Neil (Linda) Hess of Pittsfield, PA; a sister Lauri (Vern) Mee of Falconer and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by 2 sisters Yvonne Loewel and Judith Crowell. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. Deacon Samuel Pellerito will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
