Obituary of Agnes B. Turner
Agnes B. Turner, 104, formerly of 29 S. Greene Ave. WE and Ellicott Shores in Celoron, died at 4:00 a.m. Friday, December 14, 2012 at the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center.
She was the widow of Robert F. Turner, whom she married June 16, 1934 and who died February 5, 1998.
Aggie was born June 25, 1908 in Antrim, PA, a daughter of the late Eric and Alma Anderson Bergman, and graduated from Antrim High School. She came to the Jamestown area in 1925.
In earlier years she was employed by Jamestown Metal Corp. and retired after many years with the former Jamestown Mutual Insurance Co.
Aggie was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school and had been active in Fellowship Guild and the Esther Circle.
Surviving is a daughter, Susan (Tom) Priester of Jamestown; two grandchildren: Shannon Zirpolo of Greensboro, NC and Dayne Priester of Jamestown; six great-grandchildren: Christopher (Ashleigh) Zirpolo of Reidsville, NC, Anthony and Danielle Zirpolo, both of Greensboro, and Eric, Nathan and Sarah Priester, all of Jamestown; a great great-grandson, Bentley Zirpolo of Reidsville; and Aggie's very special friend at Lutheran, Linda Paterniti.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann Roberta Furstenau in 1983; two sisters, Ellen Sandquist in 2000 and Olga Anderson in 1995; and an infant sister, Anna Bergman.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in Christ Chapel of the Lutheran Home. The Rev. Daniel S. Rumfelt will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home, and for one hour prior to the service in Christ Chapel Wednesday.
