Obituary of Richard L. Murdock
Richard L. "Mudduck" Murdock, 70, of 152 Boulevard Ave., Celoron, died at 1:52 p.m. Friday, December 14, 2012 in WCA Hospital.
He was born May 26, 1942 in Bradford, Pa., a son of the late Wayne and Ellen Tenpas Murdock.
A 1961 graduate of Chautauqua High School, he served in the US Army from March of 1964 to March of 1966.
Dick had been employed by Jamestown Macadam for 37 years, retiring as plant operator.
He was a member of the Herman Kent Post #777 American Legion, the Moose Lodge #2257 and the Chautauqua Lake Fisherman's Association.
A fan of the Buffalo Bills and Willie Nelson music, Dick enjoyed watching NASCAR racing, races at Lake Erie Speedway and especially watching his brother race.
Dick is survived by his wife, Jacklynn "Jackie" Wolfe Murdock, whom he married February 16, 1985; a daughter, Jennifer (Dallas) McMillan of Murphy, NC; two step-daughters, Carol (Shawn) Wright of Rochester, NY and Renne Wolfe of Lakewood, NY; and seven grandchildren: Connor and Camryn McMillan of Murphy, Cain and Justine Wright of Rochester, and Emily Dahlgren, Nathaniel Troili and Hunter Wallace, all of Lakewood. Also surviving are two sisters, Jackie (Larry) Swanson and Lois "Corky" DeGolier, both of Westfield, and a brother, Dale (Marla) Murdock of Sherman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death his step-father, Arthur Clute, and in 1989 a daughter, Sheri Lea Murdock.
A Celebration of Dick's Life will be held from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Chautauqua Lake Fish Club in Celoron.
