Obituary of Helen Ludwiczak
Helen Ludwiczak, 92, of 231 McDaniel Ave. Jamestown passed away at 2:45 p.m. Friday (December 21, 2012) in the Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility.
A lifelong area resident she was born September 5, 1920 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Pilat Ludwiczak.
Helen attended Jamestown Public Schools.
Due to the death of her mother, at a young age in 1936, she left school to help her father raise her four younger brothers and sisters.
She was a lifelong active communicant of Holy Apostles Parish at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church of which she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society for many years.
Helen also served as an election inspector for the Chautauqua County Board of Elections working the polls at the former Charles St. School and the Brooklyn Heights United Methodist Church for several years. She also enjoyed taking trips with the Senior Traveler's Group.
Helen will be sadly missed by her surviving family, her two sisters Dorothy Ludwiczak and Alice Ludwiczak with whom she made her home, a brother John Walter Ludwiczak of Jamestown, her eight nieces and nephews, ten great nieces and nephews, three great great nieces and nephews and her sister in law Carolyn Ludwiczak of Palmetto, FL.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers Raymond R. Ludwiczak, Edward Ludwiczak and a sister Mary Skrypek.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 26th, at Holy Apostles Parish at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Dennis W. Mende, pastor will be celebrant. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 3-5 p.m. today, Sunday December 23rd, in the Lind Funeral Home where a Christian Wake Service will be led at 2:45 p.m. today.
