Obituary of Clifford J. Catlin

Clifford J. Catlin, 87, formerly of Fluvanna Ave. Ext. and St. Petersburg Beach, FL, passed away at 10:40 a.m. Sunday (December 23, 2012) in the Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. A lifelong area resident he was born May 17, 1925 in Jamestown, NY a son of the late Clyde and Anna Carlson Catlin. He was a graduate of Jamestown High School and attended Jamestown Business College. In earlier years, Cliff worked as an insurance agent for the Record Agency in Forestville, NY. He also owned and operated the Love-It Drive Inn during the summer months and during the winter he enjoyed traveling to Mexico. He also worked as a real estate salesman and was a car dealer. During his later years he spent the winter months in Florida, where he worked at the dog track. He enjoyed traveling and taking trips to Las Vegas and cruises to South America and Asia. As a young man he enjoyed skiing and playing tennis. Surviving are several nieces and nephews, Donald (Marian) Gorman, Dave, Dan and Dale Gorman, Donna Roberts, Sandra Scott, Richard and Ronald Scott. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters Beatrice Gorman, Mildred Scott and two brothers Virgil and Merle Catlin. In keeping with Clifford's wishes, services will be private and visitation will not be observed. Inurnment will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.
