Obituary of Tracie Lynn Swanson

Tracie Lynn Swanson, 39, of 317 Fairmount Avenue in Jamestown, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2013 in Buffalo General Medical Center with her parents and brother at her side. She was born August 27, 1973 in Jamestown, the daughter of Douglas R. and Sandy Miller Swanson of Lakewood. A 1991 graduate of Southwestern Central School, Tracie received her Bachelor's Degree in Marketing from SUNY Brockport in 1995. Prior to her disability she was employed as Marketing Manager for Innovative Tool & Machine in Falconer. She had formerly served as Special Events Coordinator for the Palace Station Casino and Hotel in Las Vegas and the Advertising Manager for Trump Marina Casino and Hotel in Atlantic City. Tracie was a confirmed member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Lakewood. Always very creative, she greatly enjoyed scrapbooking and glassware decorating. Tracie also loved her family pet animals and was an avid collector of Disney memorabilia. In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother, Chris Swanson of Palmer, Alaska; her maternal grandmother, Mary Jane Swanson of Lakewood; niece and nephew, Katie and Jack Swanson of Palmer; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins throughout the United States. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Bob Miller, and paternal grandparents, Reynold Swanson and Joyce and Tom Atkins. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. The Rev. Timothy J. Hoyer will officiate. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home.
