Obituary of Kristina R. Stewart

Kristina R. "Kris" Stewart, 69, of 22 Front St., Silver Creek, passed away Wednesday, January 9th at Brooks Memorial Hospital following a four year struggle with cervical and pancreatic cancer. She was born Kristina Renate Schoenwald to her parents, the late Otto and Maria Schoenwald, on February 15, 1943 in Koenigsberg, East Prussia (Germany). Kris arrived in the United States the day before President Kennedy's funeral in 1963. She was a member of the Silver Creek community for over 40 years, and will be remembered for her many years of dedication and service at the Silver Creek VFW as a hostess and honorary member of the Ladies' Auxiliary. Kris is survived by a son, David Stewart of Oakland, CA and a daughter, DeMaris Stewart of Jamestown. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 19th at the Samuel Cimino VFW Post 6472, 13 N. Main Street in Silver Creek.
