Obituary of Joan L. Brigiotta

Joan L. Brigiotta of Myrtle St. Jamestown passed away at 2:10 p.m. Sunday (January 13, 2013) in W.C.A. Hospital. A lifelong area resident she was born in January of 1952 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of Jeannette Grassi Brigiotta. Joan was a 1970 graduate of Jamestown High School and was employed as a secretary for several area businesses including the Post Journal, Key Bank and Johnson Whitmeyer - Plumbing and Heating. She was a communicant of Holy Apostles Parish at St. Johns Catholic Church and will be remembered as one who loved to spend time doing crafts and attending area craft shows where she sold her handmade items. Surviving are her mother Jeannette Brigiotta and her sister Jean Brigiotta with whom she made her home, her Aunts and Uncles; Tom and Fran Galbato, Gerald and Aurora Bondi, Mary Grassi all of Jamestown, Tony Grassi of MA and Eleanor Brigiotta of Binghamton, NY. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Adnan Munir and Lucy Studd for their care and concern these past several months. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Mr. & Mrs. James Grassi, her paternal grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Anthony Brigiotta and by her Aunts and Uncles Sal Grassi, Joseph and Marian Golando, Patricia Grassi, Mary Tota, Anthony Brigiotta, Thomas Brigiotta and Sebastian and Marie Brigiotta. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Apostles Parish at St. Johns Catholic Church. The Rev. Dennis W. Mende, pastor will be celebrant. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home where a Christian Wake Service will be led at 3:45 P.M. Tuesday.
