Obituary of Lucille Wheeler

Lucille Wheeler, 96, formerly of the Fairmount Hills Apartments, passed away Tuesday February 5, 2013 at the Rouse Suites, Youngsville, PA. She was born December 2, 1916 in Laona, NY the daughter of William and Clara Thompson Willson. Lucille was a graduate of Cassadaga High School. She was a homemaker until later in life, working at Bigelow's and Marlin Rockwell Corp until retirement. She was a member of the Lakewood Women's Club and their Bridge Club; Lakewood Rod and Gun Club; Home Bureau; Maplehurst Country Club; and the Lions Club Aux. She enjoyed playing Bridge, golfing, traveling, music, dancing, and boating on Chautauqua Lake. Lucille was fun loving and graciousand always a dependable source of encouragement and unconditional love for her family. Always an avid Scrabble player, she enjoyed playing with her friends at the Suites and, she often used her computer to play online with her family. Surviving are her daughter, Judy (Will) Champlin of Warren, PA; her son Gregg (Fran) Guichard of Lakewood; four grandchildren, Ryan (Crystal) Leblanc of Chesterfield, VA; Gregg (Amy) Guichard of Lakewood; Brooke Guichard of Jamestown; Danielle Guichard of Newport News, VA; a great grandson, Riley Leblanc; five step grandchildren, Bill and Nick Champlin; Shannon Lee Sauder; Amber Lee Arrance; Jack Lee; nephews, Dwight and Brian Willson; Tom, Jim, and Bill Francis; and niece, Diane Francis Shults. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Melvin Guichard; her second husband, Ray Wheeler; a son, Ronald J. Guichard; and five brothers and sisters, Sidney Willson; Ella Hewes; Edna Mae Stafford; Roger Willson; and Robert Willson; and niece, Kathy Stafford Singer. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service Saturday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Bethel Lutheran Church, 904 West Third St Jamestown, NY 14701; or to a charity of choice.
