Grandpa,
Words can't express how thankful and lucky I am to have had you for a grandpa. I will never forget visiting you in Lawrenceville. I was around 3 years old. You taught me how to tie my shoes. You were so patient. You showed me the steps over and over again, and when I became frustrated, you encouraged me so that I didn't give up. Within a few hours I was doing it all by myself - thanks to YOU! There are so many wonderful memories: theaters, trips to D.C., NYC, & CO, cottages on Chautauqua Lake, untethered hot air balloon rides, taking in the view of the horses and the sunset from the front yard of our farm and having "tribal council" and smores around the fire-pit... and most of all your love. I will always cherish these memories and your love - and I will forever think of you when I bend down to tie my shoes.
Love your granddaughter,
Erika

We were priviledged to live next to Carl and Doris for 7 years while in Lawrenceville, NJ, and what fun it was! Their many roses & fruit trees, Buck, the Great Dane whom our boys 'baby-sat', 'small group' from the Presbyterian church, the salmon that they bought in an estate auction, blessed friends. A light has gone out in this world, however we smile when we think of them and the joy they brought to so many. Our consolences to the family, especially Carla and Carl. God bless.

I'd like to express my sympathy to the Hagberg family. I always enjoyed sitting with Carl and Uncle Bob Peterson at church functions. Both were WWII officers which I greatly respected. In reading the obituary I see Carl lived a blessed life which was well deserved.

You were always one of my mom's, (Esther), favorite cousins. She spoke of you so highly and fondly. I have many great memories of "Carl and Doris" at family reunions, and could see why my mom enjoyed you so much. I know the coffee pot in heaven is on, and they handed your your cup as you entered. You will be missed.

Mr. Hagberg, I was fortunate to have known you. I wanted to express my thanks for your generosity in letting us drive your VW van which made our Trip out West possible in 1968. For Matt, Paul, Bear, and I, it was a ‘once in a lifetime trip,’ which remains true for all of us, even now, almost 45 years later. I was so impressed, when recently; Matt recounted the story about your discussions with Mrs. Hagberg about whether to let us use your van to go on The Trip. Your response was that we would all be going into the Army soon, and that you thought that we should see the country we were going to defend. My sincere condolences and sympathy to Matt, Tracy, and the entire family. I understand your feelings since my father passed away three weeks ago.
