Obituary of Blanche E. VanOrd

Blanche E. VanOrd, 80, formerly of Crescent St. Jamestown, passed away at 8:40 p.m. Saturday (February 16, 2013) in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center. An area resident for most of her life she was born March 16, 1932 in Butler, PA a daughter of the late Lyman M. and Martha Welsh Shrader. In previous years she had been employed by the former Maddox Table Company, the former VanStee Corporation and the former Jamestown Veneer and Plywood. She will be remembered as one who loved to take part in bible studies and listen to country music. Surviving are two daughters Doreen L. (James) Lee of Jamestown, Denise K. (Dana) Hamrick of Kennedy, three sons G. Martin (Jewel) VanOrd of Peekskill, NY, Richard (Lisa Johnson) VanOrd of Jamestown, Mark VanOrd of Spotsylvania, VA, eleven grandchildren Marc Nazario, Samantha Lee, Brandon Knisley, Christopher Knisley, Angel VanOrd all of Jamestown, Andrew Hamrick and Clayton Hamrick both of Kennedy, Jill Hamrick of Stockton, Benjamin VanOrd, Daniel VanOrd, Jessica VanOrd all of Peekskill, nine great grandchildren and two brothers Alfred and George Shrader both of Butler, PA. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a twin sister Audrey Adams and a sister Martha Jane Brosius. The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Pastor Verne Seekings of Grace Fellowship Church, Fredonia will officiate. Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
