Obituary of Carmela Millie Ronga

Carmela Millie Ronga, 93, of 433 Hunt Road, passed away peacefully Wednesday February 27, 2013 in her home with her family by her side. She was born February 18, 1920 in Jamestown the daughter of Vincent and Sebastiana Finocchiaro Caruso. In earlier years while living in New York City, she was a member of the Eastern Star. She loved to sew, was a great cook, and she and her husband were known for their dancing, well into their 80's. Millie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an attractive, feisty, little spitfire who was enjoyed by all. Her delightful smile and energy could light up a room. Surviving are her husband of 70 years, Silvio Peter Ronga; a son, Peter Rizzuto of Aspen, CO; grandchildren, Nicholette Carmela Ronga of San Francisco, CA, Anthony Rizzuto, Gianna Rizzuto and great grandchildren Luca Rizzuto, Ryleigh Rizzuto of Aspen, CO; a brother, Samuel Caruso of Jamestown; nieces, MaryAnn Alpaugh, Madeline DeMarco, RoseAnn Samuelson, and Angel Rodriguez; nephews, Sam Jr, Dan, Ron, and Thomas Caruso; several cousins; and her caregiver of many years, Mayta Jean Work. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Amanda Williams and everyone at Hospice for their tender loving care of Millie. She was loved and adored by many. She was preceded in death by her son, John Silvio Ronga "Johnny Zane" in 2010; a sister, Jean Carlino; and two brothers, Joe and Santo Caruso. The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Cathy Smith, Hospice Chaplain, will officiate.
