Today when the Pastor asked if anyone would like to say a few words I wanted to but there was no way I was able to speak. Like so many people, Dan also touched my life in many ways. When I started selling cars in the 70's Dan took me under his wing and he became my mentor. I,along with so many others, learned from the best. Dan introduced me to my wife and then was my Best Man at our weddiing.....that's Dan, ALWAYS the BEST man! Rest In Peace my friend.

Years ago , my husband and I were a young couple buying a new car and Dan took the time to take us under his wing. Yes, I know he was trying to sell a car but more importantly he treated us like a personal friend and I will never forget that. He has made an impression on our lives and I felt his family should know that his life on earth was valued.

We all remember Dan as car guy, or more specifically a Ford guy. I know he also loved the people that went with the cars. Whether they were customers who bought from him, or the people he came to know because of his passion for cars. He knew the people of the community around him, whether it was Jamestown, Sherman, Warren, or elsewhere. He made friends wherever he was, and he always had an angle on buying or selling a car wherever he happened to be. We will miss you Dan.

I met Dan in 1998 at Sherman Ford. We bought a dozen trucks plus from Dan since then. Dan Ruttenbur has been and always will be the finest individual and salesman that my family's business's have ever dealt with. I know my brother and nephew's feel the same way too. We will miss seeing Dan on and around the lake in the summer. Dan came over more than once with his slimjim to get me into my locked truck, it usually took him about twenty seconds and always included an invitation to come over and see Debbie and have some pie. Anyone that had the pleasure of meeting Dan knows we have all suffered a huge loss. To all the Ruttenbur Family we offer our heartfelt condolences and prayers. Have faith that Dan is in a better place, surrounded by cool vehicles and waiting for the rest of us to show up and share stories, laughs and his cheerful spirit that will always be an inspiration. What a treat for Matt to run into Danny And Debbie at Home Depot in Cleveland last Fall. What an honor to purchase our first hot rod Raptor pickup from Dan last December and bringing it over to the house for him to see - he was delighted to know I got a speeding ticket the first twenty minutes driving it. One of the greatest people we have ever or will ever know is Dan Ruttenbur. RIP

Debbie, Todd, Pam, Cathy and Steve-
I want you all to know for just knowing Dan and all of you for such a short lived time during Dan's last days, you have all deeply impacted my heart for getting the privilege to meet and know each one of you. I got to learn so much about all of you, but most of all Dan and Debbie's lives together. It's wonderful to know that two people who have come from heartache in their pasts too had found such a genuine love in each other. These two people cared about me as though they knew me their whole lives. But especially Dan....who I could seem to do no wrong in his eyes for whatever reason. We bonded instantly the moment we met each other. He lit up when he saw me come in each night to care for him. Most of all, the smile and laugh he had was undeniably unforgettable. I can still hear him in my mind. I loved hearing his passion of cars and of course Nascar. In his final days he got to watch the Daytona 500 one last time. Debbie even went through all the trouble to wash Dan all up, struggle as hard as it was for her to put on his brand new 2013 Daytona race shirt and hat on that Danny Jr. sent to him. I am sure now he is in heaven racing with all the big boys who have gone before him. Debbie, I want you to know that it may not be possible for me to make it to Dan's viewing and if I do not, I deeply regret it. Quite frankly though, I would prefer to remember Dan as the final days I was there with him. I hate funeral homes, as I know most of us do. But please whisper in Dan's ear for me that he is in my heart and I will make sure that I will do my best to stop in to see his little Debbie-Do as often as I can once things slow down for her. I especially plan to stop in as time allows to watch Dancing with the Stars! I know this was another great passion the two of you shared. It would be at least something I can be there for to try and ease your pain during this most difficult time when Dan is unable to be there. But if there's ever a time you need anything, please don't be afraid to call and ask. If it's within my ability, I will do it. I will always be your friend and just a phone call away. Love and miss you Dan.......
