Obituary of Vivian F. Simmons

Vivian F. Simmons, 96, formerly of 148 Cole Avenue, Jamestown, died Sunday March 3, 2013, in the home of her daughter, Nancy, in Johnson City, NY. A Jamestown native, she was born September 26, 1916, a daughter of the late George and Ellen Heglund Thornblad. She graduated from Celoron High School and was a member of Kidder Memorial United Methodist Church. Surviving are three daughters Susan (Geary) Frill of Jamestown, Nancy (Albert) Brazinski of Johnson City, NY and Linda (Thomas) Hill of Niagara Falls, NY; 8 grandchildren Michael and Linda Frill, Martin, Kevin and Steven Brazinski, Jerome Taylor, Daniel and Thomas Simmons; 17 great grandchildren and a sister Jean Hoyt of Gerry. She was preceded in death by her husband Leroy Lester Simmons, whom she married October 5, 1935 and who died January 28, 1988 and a son Maj. Denis L. Simmons. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Rick LaDue will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Falconer.
