Obituary of Gretta I. Gross

Gretta I. Gross, 99, formerly of Jamestown, died Sunday March 10, 2013 in N. Fort Myers, FL where she resided since 1968. She was born November 5, 1913 in West Ellicott, NY the daughter of Earl C. and Reminta Kessey Ewing. Gretta attended Celoron Schools and prior to retirement in 1968, worked at the former Art Metal Corp. Surviving are eight step children; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; a sister, Gladys Forbes of Lakewood, NY; two nieces, Sylvia Erwin, and Belinda Erickson; and a nephew, Brian Erwin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Munger; her second husband, Harold A. Gross; a step son, George Gross; three sisters, Erlene Lydell, Marie Stapleton, and Betty Trass; and a brother, Clare West. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. Msr. Joseph M. Dowdell, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home where a Christian Wake service will be held at 3:45 p.m. Thursday. The family would like to thank Gladys, Pat and all others for taking such good care of their step-mother.
