Obituary of Betty J. Sweeney

Betty J. Sweeney, 84, of 6093 Niobe Road, Panama, died Sunday March 10, 2013, in her home. She was born October 14, 1928, in Ashville, a daughter of the late Arvid and Alma Bridges Sandstrom. She was a graduate of Lakewood High School. Prior to her retirement she was employed by WCA Hospital as a licensed practical nurse for 14 years. Her memberships include Siloam Fellowship, Harmony Senior Citizens and Lakewood Rod and Gun Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and also cooking, knitting and crocheting. Surviving are two daughters Cherry (Sherwood) Potter of Ashville and Roxanne (James) Cady of Panama; 2 granddaughters Melissa (Drew) Campbell of Clymer and Amy Casel of Dewittville and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Frederick Sweeney, whom she married October 12, 1946 and who died January 3, 2001; 2 brothers William and Robert Sandstrom and a sister Dorothy Nobbs. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Pastor David Bush will officiate. Burial will be in Grant Cemetery, Niobe.
