Obituary of Jean B Johnson

Jean B. Johnson, 81, of North Harmony passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013, in the UPMC Hamot Medical Center, Erie, PA. A lifelong area resident she was born August 2, 1931 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late Sigfred C. and Margaret Herbert Bernhard. She was a 1949 graduate of Jamestown High School. Before her retirement years she had been employed by the former Bengtson Grocery Store for many years. She had also worked for the former Jamestown Telephone Company and the McKallor Drug Company. She will be remembered as such a loving, caring and happy person. She loved everyone as if they were her own family, especially her "club girls". She enjoyed bird watching, gardening, working in her flower garden and collecting clocks. She had a natural "green thumb" when it came to caring for her plants and flowers. She also enjoyed her home and spending time outdoors appreciating the wonders of mother nature and was especially fond of her dogs Molly and Polly. Surviving are two daughters Julie (Peter) Levinson of Lakewood, NY, Jill (Michael) McFarland of Ellington, NY, a grandson Cal Edborg of Franklin, Mass. She is also survived by a sister and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Gordon J. Johnson whom she married July 28, 1951 and who died September 26, 2012 and a sister Janette Nelson. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home.
