Obituary of Mary H. Gould
Mary H. Gould, 88, formerly of Morningside and Annapolis, Maryland, died Saturday March 16, 2013 at the Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility.
She was born April 30, 1924 in Bradford, PA the daughter of the late Howard and Florence Wilson Burkett.
Mary served in the Women's Army Corp (WAC) during WWII. Prior to retirement, she worked at the Prince George's County School District in Maryland as a Bus Driver. She was a member of the Sweet Adelines, Eastern Star, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, and was resident of the year at Heritage Village.
Surviving are four sons, Richard (Karen) Gould; Dennis Gould, both of Jamestown; David (Pat) Gould of Vancouver, WA; Brian Gould of Baltimore, MD; seven grandchildren, Adam, Andrew, Carly, and Abby Gould all of Jamestown; Chris Gould (Sarah Guy) of Colonial Beach, VA, Sarah Gould (Ron Overby) of Mechanicsville, MD; Jennifer Gould of Annapolis, MD; three great grandchildren, Ryan and Riley Gould; Ronan Overby; a devoted sister in law, Marilyn Hale of Jamestown; a sister, Marge Buchanan of Olean; and two brothers, Lafayette Burkett of Lake Jackson, TX; Bobby Burkett of Cheyenne, WY; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard H. Gould whom she married August 31, 1946, and who died October 1988; and two brothers, Howard and Richard Burkett.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Heritage Village Chapel. The Rev. Donald E. Ray will officiate.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service Wednesday in the chapel.
Burial with full Military Honors will be in Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD at a later date.
