Obituary of Bruce L. Johnson

Bruce L. Johnson, 61, of 754 Fairmount Ave. WE, died Monday, March 25, 2013 in his home. He was born March 29, 1951 in Jamestown, the son of the late Harry and Florence Bachelor Johnson. Bruce had been employed for 23 years by Hopes Windows, and retired from Bush Industries in Falconer. In his younger years, Bruce worked as a clerk for his late grandfather, Judge Harry E. "Hanging Harry" Johnson. He belonged to the Celoron Moose; Herman Kent Post 777 American Legion, where he was a former chaplain; and was a life-member of the Celoron Fire Department. Bruce enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing softball, boating and the lake. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Wolfe Johnson, whom he married April 13, 2002; eight children: Richard (Lauri) Johnson and Michael (April) Johnson, both of Jamestown, Nicholas (Kristen) Johnson of Falconer, Michael Wolfe of Pennsylvania, Rebecca Bush and Stephen (Andrea) Bush, both of Busti, and Kimberly (Brandon) Hitchcock and Maria Houser of Jamestown; and twenty grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Dayle F. Keefer will officiate.
