Obituary of Elsie J. Johnson

Elsie J. Johnson, 94, formerly of 1114 Lakeview Avenue, died Friday April 5, 2013, in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center. A native of Jamestown, she was born September 21, 1918, a daughter of the late Frank and Anna Olson Johnson. She was a 1935 graduate of Jamestown High School. Prior to her retirement in 1983, she was employed by Lutheran Social Services as an administrative assistant for 15 years. A lifelong member of First Lutheran Church, she was involved in many church activities over the years. Surviving are 2 children Richard (Susan) Johnson of Chandler, AZ and Janice (Tony) Rozzi of Freedom, PA; 3 grandchildren Lori (Tim) Town of Jamestown, Patrick (Heather) Rozzi of York, PA and Matthew Johnson of Chandler, AZ and three great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband E. David Johnson, whom she married in 1940 and who died August 22, 1984; a son Stanley Johnson; a daughter Elaine Johnson; 2 brothers Carl and Axel Johnson and a sister Lillian Johnson. The Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Tim Phelps will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
