Obituary of Janet W. Scholin

Janet W. Scholin, 84, of the Watson Memorial Home, Warren, PA formerly of 50 Norton Ave. Jamestown, NY passed away on Tuesday (April 16, 2013) at her Watson Home residence. An area resident for most of her life she was born July 12, 1928 in Riverton, NJ, a daughter of the late Randolph and Jessie Phillips Woodard. She was a graduate of Cassadaga Valley Central School and had previously worked as a purchaser for the former Bigelow's Department Store and earlier at the former Jamestown Steel Partitions. She was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with the Hillcresters Group. She was also an accomplished artist working with oil and water color paints. She displayed her artistry at local shows in Bemus Point and the Lakewood Library. She also loved to travel and had visited many states as well as overseas countries. Surviving are two brothers Warren W. Woodard of Greenhurst, NY and Irving Woodard of Port Allegheny, PA as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Harold O. Scholin whom she married June 29, 1952 and who died May 27, 1997 and two brothers Dean and Winston Woodard. The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
