Obituary of Jeanne J. Thomas
Jeanne J. Thomas, 64, of 2146 Shadyside Road, Lakewood, passed away at 8:20 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2013, in her home.
She was the wife of William Thomas, whom she married May 2, 1981.
Jeanne was born November 4, 1948 in Pittsburgh, Pa., a daughter of the late Delber and Maxine Eaton James. She was a graduate of Freeport High School and received her Bachelor's Degree from Edinboro University.
Jeanne was employed in the Payroll & Human Resource Department of the former Lexington Die Casting, now Premier Tool & Die, in Lakewood for many years. She additionally worked part-time as finance director at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Jamestown.
She belonged to Zion Covenant Church, where she enjoyed helping with various women's groups, and was a member of Koinonia, having attended the K-8 weekend. Jeanne also taught line dancing at the Lakewood Recreation Center.
Along with her husband, Bill, Jeanne is survived by two step-sons, Kevin (Faith) Thomas of Russell, Pa. and Marc (Jodie) Thomas of N. Warren, Pa.; four step-grandsons, Nick, Alex, Michael and Paul Thomas; and a brother, William T. James of California and sister, Patricia Altmyer of Pittsburgh.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Marguerite Darien.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in Zion Covenant Church. The Rev. Rick Miller will officiate.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home.
