Obituary of Shelley S. Roblee
Shelley S. Roblee 91, of Emeritus of Lakewood, formerly of Prosser Hill Rd. Jamestown passed away at 9:52 a.m. Friday (April 26, 2013) in W.C.A. Hospital.
An area resident for most of her life she was born August 1, 1921 in Keyser, West Virginia a daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret Liller Stayman.
She earned her Bachelor's Degree from Agnes Scott College in Decatur, GA.
She was a longtime member of the Kiantone Congregational Church, a member of the Jamestown Garden Club and the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club Auxiliary. In earlier years she was a Girl Scout Brownie leader and a co-leader of the 4-H as well as a volunteer for the American Red Cross.
She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother who enjoyed gardening, painting, reading, writing, cooking, sculpting and bird watching.
Surviving are a son Christopher S. Roblee of Green Valley, AZ, three daughters Rebecca J. (Joel) Anderson of Jamestown, Jennifer R. (Craig) Wiede of Collins, NY, Sara R. (Francis) Regan of Hopkinton, MA, nine grandchildren Erin (Ben) Black of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Emily (Nate) Keagle of Elma, NY, Thomas N. (Kristen Pinsent) Anderson of Westhampton, NY, Marielle Wiede of West Falls, NY, Andrew Wiede of Huntington, West VA, Alexandra Wiede of Oneonta, NY, Matthew, Regan, Elana Regan and Brendan Regan of Hopkinton, MA.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ernest E. Roblee, who was a former President of Jamestown Business College, whom she married October 26, 1946 and who died February 20, 2002 and a brother Dr. Joseph Stayman II.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Kiantone Congregational Church. The Rev. Melvin R. McGinnis, pastor will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 2-5 p.m. Sunday in the Lind Funeral Home.
