Obituary of Roy V. Snyder

Roy V. Snyder, 81, formerly of 842 North Main St. Jamestown, passed away at 6:28 a.m. Tuesday (April 30, 2013 in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center. He was born September 9, 1931 in Jamestown, NY a son of the late Carl B. and Frances A. Safford Snyder. Roy had formerly lived in Rochester, NY from 1961 to 1989, where he owned and operated Roy's TV Repair. He attended the Lighthouse Baptist Church and was a former member of the Full Gospel Businessman International in Rochester. Surviving are a sister June K. Shearer of Brandon, MS, a step-daughter Shirley Curry, a step-son Paul Vary and his care giver Anthony Merchant of Jamestown. He will be remembered as one who loved life, loved his God and enjoyed spending time kite flying. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife the former Janice C. Ryan Snyder whom he married September 24, 1989 and who died July 12, 1998 and a brother Edwin C. Snyder. The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 6, 2013, in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald Erickson, pastor of the Lighthouse Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed.
