Obituary of Ruth P. Davis

Ruth P. Davis, 93, of 11 Whitehill Ave. Jamestown passed away at 12:57 a.m. Saturday (May 11, 2013) in her home. A lifelong area resident, she was born October 10, 1919 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late Arthur and Lillian Erickson Peterson. She was a graduate of Jamestown High School and a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist and the Marvin Community House. In earlier years she had been employed by the former Burns Case Goods and Swanson Machine Company. She also worked as a bookkeeper for her father's business, Arthur Peterson Construction. Surviving are her husband of 65 years, John F. "Jack" Davis whom she married March 20, 1948 and her son Scott A. Davis (Becky Rosen) of Jamestown. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers Kenneth and William Peterson. A memorial service will be held at a later date and time to be announced by the Lind Funeral Home. Visitation will not be observed.
