Obituary of Christine M. Dorler

Christine M. Dorler, 66, of 40 Vinnie St. in Jamestown, died Wednesday, May 15, 2013 in WCA Hospital following a battle with cancer. She was born December 20, 1946 in Canandaigua, NY, the daughter of the late William and Helene Runkle, and was a 1965 graduate of Cassadaga Valley Central School. She graduated from Jamestown Business College as a medical assistant. Chris loved time with her grandchildren and if not with them, could be found tending to the flowers in her gardens which she enjoyed greatly. She is survived by her husband, Lawrence W. Dorler, whom she married August 14, 1971; two sons, Brian Dorler of Buffalo and Andrew (Jessica) Dorler of Jamestown; three grandchildren, Gavin, Jaxson and Kyler Dorler of Jamestown; and a brother, John (Kathy) Runkle of Cassadaga. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Darrel Moen, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church in East Aurora, NY, will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home Saturday. Memorials may be made to Hospice Chautauqua County, 20 W.
