Many years ago, Kay and I had occasion to speak on the phone nearly every week; I worked in the office at NYSUT, Dow House, during 'those' years; while she was teaching, and other times, what a lovely woman to speak with; always a smile when you saw her. Truly, one of the nicest women I've ever met. What a sad loss for her family. Stay strong; I know you will; talk to Kay every day; you will 'feel' her around

I am so saddened to read the news of Kay's passing. I had the good fortune to work with Kay through the United Way and St. Susan's and what a blessing it was. She is that person who lights up the room with her smile, energy, and enthusiasm for whatever she was doing. How fortunate we were in Jamestown to have her advocating for so many charities. She leaves a legacy of leadership that will long be remembered and learned from. God bless you Kay. Sympathies to all in your family, your friends, and those of us in your fan club. You will be missed.

Miss Kaiser, as I knew her was my second grade teacher at Lillian Dickson School. Also taught me English and SS at Washington Jr. I was so thrilled when I found out she would be my teacher once again. Was ironic that years later she became a supervisor to my daughter Carole LaMar Garrison when she was a student teacher at Fredonia. How things come around. My only regret that she lived right here all the time and I never knew it. Never knew her married name. My sympathy to your family. She was a great teacher who truly cared for her students.

I am so sorry to read about your mom's passing. I always kept up with what you two were doing, when ever I saw her, she was very proud of you both & your families. I will miss seeing her & saying "Hi Mrs. Burch", and she would say "Toni, call me Kay, you kids are now adults" . Out of respect she was & always will be "Mrs. Burch" Til later Mrs. Burch, Rest in Peace.

Upon visiting Aunt Esther with my Grandmother Martha, I was blessed enough to time things just fight and sit down to dinner with the entire Kaiser/Burch family. Katherine Mary made a mean strawberry shortcake followed by Uncle Art's Creme de menthe over shaved ice. I think of our visits often and feel grateful to have those fun times to cherish. My deepest sympathy to all.

Mrs. Burch was my principal at Euclid in the 1970's. My parents got divorced and I had a very hard time in 1st and 2nd grade- I was very shy and scared. Mrs. Burch reached out to me, my parents, and my family and made us all feel important and cared for. Because of her I was able to regain my confidence and do well in school. I have never forgotten her kindness, compassion, professionalism, or sense of humor in over 40 years- and I think of her often as I teach my own college students today. Her passing is a great loss for everyone- she was a wonderful lady who made many lives better. She will be greatly missed.
