Obituary of Marion E. Shavalier

Marion Shavalier, 82, formerly of Covenant Manor and the Hotel Jamestown, died Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Heritage Park Rehab & Skilled Nursing. She was born July 12, 1930 in Bradford, Pa., one of ten children of the late Clarence and Josephine Inscho Kitchell, and had attended Zion Tabernacle. Surviving is a son, David E. (Sally) Shavalier and two daughters, Debra Griffin and Lori Shavalier, all of Jamestown; 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Dora Cote of Salt Lake City and two brothers, Willis and Harold Kitchell, both of Jamestown; and several nieces and nephews. Marion was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Shavalier and second husband, Robert Woodworth; a son, Dennis Shavalier who died July 27, 2007; three sisters, Gertrude Goodnoe, Edith Bailey and Josephine Macaluso; and three brothers, Gerald, Jim and Leon Kitchell. The funeral will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Robert E. Reeves will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service Saturday in the funeral home.
