Obituary of Margaret J. Walters

Margaret Jones Walters, 104, of Raleigh, NC, formerly of Quigley Park, Ashville, NY, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2013 in Raleigh. She was born April 25, 1909 in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Dr. Elmer A. and Helen Sealander Jones. She graduated from Jamestown High School in 1926 and National Park Seminary, Forest Glen, Maryland in 1928. Margaret married John C. Walters on June 13, 1931 and celebrated nearly 60 years together prior to his death on February 24, 1991. She was a Charter Member, Honorary Trustee and Life member of the Marvin Community House. She was also a past member of the Mozart Club, WCA Hospital Auxiliary and Lakewood Women's Club, as well as St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Taylors, SC and the Greenville Women's Club in Greenville, SC. Margaret is survived by a son, Bruce C. (Shirley) Walters of Florence, SC and a daughter, Helen W. (Jeff) Broadhead of Raleigh, NC; six grandchildren: Bruce C. Walters, Jr. of Nichols, SC, Nealey W. Pearson of Jamestown, NY, Denise W. Bidwell of Delaware, OH, John W. Broadhead and Margaret B. Seidl, both of Greer, SC, and Rachel B. Sweeney of Charleston, SC; six great-grandchildren and two great- great-grandchildren. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 14th at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The Rev.
