Obituary of DeLoris H. Bunce

DeLoris H. Bunce, 88, formerly of 1322 Shadyside Road and Emeritus at Lakewood, passed away at 10:15 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Heritage Green Rehab & Skilled Nursing. She was born in Jamestown on September 6, 1924, the daughter of the late Austin and Linnea Brodine Hey. DeLoris was the widow of Tyler H. Bunce, whom she married August 11, 1946 and who died February 10, 2011. She was a 1942 graduate of Jamestown High School. In early years, DeLoris was employed by the former Mohawk Restaurant where she met her future husband, Tyler, with the restaurant being owned by Tyler's father. She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Lakewood Rod & Gun Club Auxiliary, Thule Lodge, Busti Golden Agers and the Lakewood American Legion where she had served as President and Chaplain. Her family will remember her as the epitome of a loving grandmother. Surviving are seven children: Barbara (Scott) Garlock of Fairport, NY, Mary (Steve) Hailer of Stow, OH, John (Jeannie) Bunce of Norwalk, CT, Nancy (Mike) Robinson of Roswell, GA, Robert Bunce of Pittsburgh, PA, William (Bettie Kenny) Bunce of Pittsburgh and Thomas (Suzie) Bunce of Grand Island, NY; as well as 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Paul Tyler Hailer; great-granddaughter, Reazen Love Vaughn; and a sister, Barbara Hey. The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Liz Simmons will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice Chautauqua County, 20 W.
