Al was a great person and I think of him often when life gets difficult. He made many kind gestures to me just because I played basketball with Ben and Adam. He was the first man who’s intelligence and calm advice awed me.

My loving and wonderful only child, my son was the best thing that ever happened to me in my life. He was a gift from God, and I was so blessed with this wondrous gift. May he be in the Arms of God until I can hold him in my arms once more.

I knew him as "Albie", for "Al B." I haven't seen or talked to him since 1982 when he sang at my wedding to my wife of now 30 years. But I thought of him often, and reading the comments of others, I see he was consistently throughout his life who I knew him as all those years ago. Albie was four years older than me, but he took me under his wing. I was a confused, sad, outcast of a teen, and he became my friend. He CHOSE to become my friend. In many ways, he saved me and allowed me to live and grow to be who I am now. He even convinced me what to major in College, and that helped guide the rest of my life. I wish I had told him this, and now it is too late. I'm sorry Albie. I'm sorry Mrs. "C". I never got to meet his family, but to all of you, your Dad and husband helped more people than you will ever know, and more than he probably ever let on. May God bless you all. Albie, I hope you and your Dad are having a great time getting reacquainted. God always takes the good ones before we are ready.

Please accept my sincerest condolences for Al's family and Libera associates. I met Al during his business trips to Arizona and through video-conference meetings. It was refreshing to be able to laugh about quirky things as we resolved to solve critical issues. -Steve-

My sincere condolences to everyone in Al’s family. I will sorely miss Al. We became friends in the mid 1980's and for a short time business partners. We exported cutting edge software to a computer support business in Sweden. In this business I relied on Al's energy, enthusiasm, strong business instincts and use of data bases for our orders that took on new and innovative dimensions as years went on. In recent years, we saw each other only sporadically, but Al was always would give me an exceptionally warm welcome and was keenly interested in everything that I was up to. A true friend – a brilliant tech thinker and doer – I will miss Al! Len Faulk

Al Cechini was a brilliant man who seemed to dedicate himself to making the world a better place. More than one employee at Libera referred to Al as more of a "father figure" than an employer. He was always there with his charismatic smile whenever anyone needed help. He prided himself on ensuring his software was completely accessible to blind and visually impaired users and he genuinely cared for his customers. His compassion and intellect will surely be missed. Condolences to his family - including his extended Libera family who held him in such high regard.

Your kind gentle loving enthusiastic creative spirit will be missed. The best of these energies that you shared will continue to live in all those you touched. That something special inside you touched me deeply as I am sure it touched those close to you. Thank you for all you have done... I wish we had more time to share... I enjoyed each time we met...
So sad you are no longer with us... Yet your smile and twinkle lives... as your loving spirit will be shared and passed on by all who were touch by your compassion and love. Here is a toast to you, Al, "Thanks for caring and making a difference! You have a kind gentle loving enthusiastic creative spirit!" Tears flow... Life is change and you have changed me... for the better... love... GJM

I never had the pleasure of formally meeting you Dr. Cecchini, but your son was Ben was a fellow W&J college student and close friend of my late son, Tim McNerney. He has been very loyal and supportive since his death which, like your's, was untimely and premature. It is clear you have instilled in him and passed along the qualities that made you a great man. My condolences to your family and friends

Al, I never had an opportunity to meet you. However, I did have the opportunity to meet your daughter, Lauren. You live in her 100%. I know now where she received her piping vocals and kindheartedness (among many other attributes). May comfort come quickly to your family and may the peace of God blanket them all.

Gosh, I'm so glad I met your mom with you on your last trip through Pittsburgh. It gave me an even better look into who you were. We were such a great pair working together. You were the ying and I was the yang on all those client calls. They won't be the same. I will miss my friend the most. Business aside. My entire family mourns with me.

For a second chance, for being a friend when few others would, for providing the training ground for a fantastic career, for the business trip to Cedar Rapids where we met and fell in love, for seven years of laughter and tears at Kinzuid and Libera .... for all of this and more we are extremely grateful. You helped transform our lives into something quite extraordinary. May you rest in peace Al.
