Obituary of Greeta L. Parker

Greeta L. Parker, 72, of 3754 Fluvanna-Townline Rd. Jamestown, NY passed away at 6:00 p.m. Friday (June 21, 2013) in W.C.A. Hospital. An area resident for most of her life she was born November 18, 1940 in East Randolph, NY a daughter of the late Lester Gray and the late Greeta Carter McIntyre. She was a graduate of the Jamestown Community College School of Nursing and before her retirement due to ill health was a Licensed Practical Nurse at W.C.A. Hospital for several years. In earlier years she had worked for the Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. She was a long time member of the Fluvanna Community Church and will be remembered as one who loved doing crafts, Sudoku puzzles and was also an avid reader. Surviving are her husband of 52 years John B. Parker whom she married June 17, 1961, her four children Gladys Parker, John Parker, Michelle Parker, Steven Parker all of Jamestown, nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren, a foster grandchild and her children, two sister Ester Kosiosec of Corry, PA, Joanne Rhodes of IL and also three half siblings. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Hazel Jean Foley. The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Dayle F. Keefer, pastor of the Fluvanna Community Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday in the funeral home.
