Ruth was a wonderful musician and friend. She and I always found our music intertwining and it was always a pleasure being in her presence.

It was a very sad moment when I was told that Ruth had passed away. She was a great inspiration to me and the other choir members at First Baptist Church. She was always upbeat about our efforts although we are a small group. She is a great example of what Christianity is about.

How very sad. I am a first cousin, also from Pittsburgh who remembers Ruth from so long ago as we were both growing up. We shared visits, especially for the holidays, between our families.
She left her family way too soon. I offer my sincere condolences.

I miss the passing of a wonderful friend, gifted musician, and very creative person! I will miss the fun we had, the duets we played (esp. for fundraisers in Ellington), the excellent piano teachers group you started (APT)- and your cheerfulness and generosity.

I remember the duet you two did at church that one Sunday..very energetic. I'm hoping the hand bells don't fall silent any time soon. Seems like anything impossible she made possible.

I have so many wonderful memories of Ruth. She was my piano teacher, duet partner, and most of all my dear friend. I cherish all of our Thursday afternoons when my 30 minute lesson lasted 2 hours! We had such fun every Saturday when she directed our handbell choir. Ruth was always developing new ideas. She challenged us to develop our skills, and always with a smile. Rest in peace, my friend, and we will play a two-piano concerto again someday.

Ruth's mother and mine were cousins who grew up in Pittsburgh. Both mothers and now dear Ruth are gone now. I will always remember what a joy and a "giver" Ruth always was.

Please accept my deepest sympathy for I too know the pain of losing someone as special as a mom. May your family find comfort as I have in knowing that our loving heavenly Father promises us that very soon he will 'swallow up death forever, and certainly wipe the tears from all faces.' (Isaiah 25:8) What a wonderful day that will be!

I was privileged to get to know Ruth during the years my family lived in Sheboygan. She was such an exceptional person -- I think she possessed the talent, energy and enthusiasm of at least five people. I always marveled that she was able to be involved in so many demanding activities without losing her sense of humor or her capacity to be genuinely interested in others and to make them feel appreciated.
Rest in peace, my friend. In your 62 years you achieved enough, and gave enough of yourself, to fill several lifetimes.
Evan, Martha, Catherine -- I remember you guys so well, and wish you and your loved ones, and all of Ruth’s many friends, the consolation of precious memories at this sad time and throughout the days ahead.

Our four years as college roommates were interesting. I remember the time you convinced me that I should cut your hair; as we "evened it out" it got shorter and shorter...we never tried that again. And when you had you ears pierced by a friend using a needle, ice cube, and thread; she got one done, you turned green, and got sick...but she convinced you to finish as you couldn't have just one pierced ear.
Our outlooks, lifestyles, and backgrounds were so different, except for our shared love of music. The last forty years were not what we expected, each so different, but ultimately we always supported each other. Thanks.

I am a member of First Baptist Church in Jamestown. I was fortunate enough to know Ruth. She was a very intelligent, witty and giving person. she was a fabulous pianist/organist and choral director. I really enjoyed the many conversations we had. She was a great lady and will be sadly missed. You're home with the Lord now, Ruth. See you again some day.
