Obituary of Elaine A. Hedberg

Elaine A. Hedberg, 85, of 28 Terrace Place, died Thursday July 4, 2013, in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center. A native of Jamestown, she was born August 19, 1927, a daughter of the late Helmar and Sarah Tidswell Peterson. She was a 1946 graduate of Jamestown High School following which she was employed by the Jamestown Telephone Company as an operator and later at Weber Knapp. She was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Family was everything to Elaine whether it was time spent with them boating at Kinzua or traveling to visit, she thoroughly enjoyed it all. Surviving are 3 children Elizabeth (Joseph) Graves of Yorktown, VA, Cynthia (Kevin) Sorenson of Jamestown and Richard (Ann Marie) Hedberg of Rush, NY; 5 grandchildren Davin Sorenson of Little Rock, AR, Elizabeth (Ben) Richard of Beverly, MA, Taylor (Conor) Breen of Fredericksburg, VA and Adam and Elaina Hedberg of Rush, NY and a sister Beverly (Edward) Bello of Jamestown. She was preceded in death by her husband George Hedberg, whom she married January 28, 1950 and who died February 23, 2012. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Inurnment will be in Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4-5 p.m. Sunday in the Lind Funeral Home.
