Obituary of Jean E. Genberg

Jean E. Genberg, 75, of Spencer Road, Jamestown, NY passed away at 3:30 a.m. Monday (July 8, 2013) in W.C.A. Hospital. A lifelong area resident, she was born November 5, 1937 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late Allen J. and Anna J. Hanson Carter. Jean was a graduate of Frewsburg Central School and before her retirement was employed as an inspector for the Sylvania Corporation in Warren, PA for 32 years. She was a woman of deep faith and devotion to her God. She was a dedicated member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church for many years. She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother who loved to spend time with her family. She could always be found weeding her flower beds or tending to her greenhouse. Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Robert A. Genberg whom she married November 12, 1955, three sons; Robert A. (Rachele) Genberg, Jr. of Ashville, NY, John W. Genberg, Mark E. (Gloria) Genberg both of Jamestown, a daughter Michele M. (Dave) Gibson of Jamestown, five grandchildren; Jason, Sarah, Nathan, Josh and Rachael and a great grandson Brent. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her sister JoAnn Flora. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed.
