Obituary of Margaret L. Carlson

Margaret L. Carlson, 86, of Lake Forest, IL, died Sunday July 7, 2013 at Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital. She was born February 10, 1927 in Jamestown the daughter of the late David and Hildur Johnson Gustafson. Peggy, as she was known to friends, was a graduate of Jamestown High School and was a member of Edgebrook Covenant Church in Chicago and First Covenant Church while in Jamestown. Surviving are a son, Jeffrey Carlson and daughter in law Lisa Kowar of Lake Forest, IL; a cousin, James Soule of Frewsburg, NY; nieces, Ann Robinson of Rochester, NY; Ann Mitchell Philly of Fallbrook, CA; nephews David Gustafson of Bemus Point, NY; Steven Mitchell of La Habra, CA; and Douglas Mitchell of Fallbrook, CA. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald R. Carlson whom she married April 4, 1953 and who died June 21, 1986; a beloved brother Allan Gustafson; and a loving sister Carole Mitchell. The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. Her niece, Rev. Ann Robinson will officiate. Burial will follow in Lake View Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service Monday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family would simply like to create awareness of the Lupus Alliance of Upstate New York.
