Obituary of Marjorie O. Kindland
Marjorie O. Kindland, 91, formerly of Norby Road, Chautauqua Avenue, Aldren Avenue and the Frewsburg Rest Home, died Thursday July 11, 2013, in Golden Living Kinzua.
A native of Jamestown, she was born September 23, 1921, a daughter of the late Rehnold and Helen Peterson Swanson.
She was a 1940 graduate of Jamestown High School.
She had worked at Bigelow's Department Store from 1967-79 and earlier had worked for Monarch Fuse.
She was a member of First Covenant Church where she taught preschool Sunday school class for many years. At church she also belonged to Covenant Women, Hope Circle and was in charge of Cradle Roll for new mothers.
She will be remembered for her sweet gentle nature, endless generosity, smiles and giggles.
Surviving are three children Ronald (Sharon) Kindland of Cumming, GA, Judy (Morris) Cheney and Donna (Brian) Adelgren, both of Kiantone; 11 grandchildren Bryan (Sarah) Kindland of Suwanee, GA, Jason (Chi) Kindland of Duluth, GA, Seth (Elizabeth) Cheney of New Freedom, PA, Cynthia (Will) Ueland of Penfield, NY, Rebecca (Eric) Davis of Macedon, NY, Nathan (Ashley) Adelgren of Liberty, SC and Stephen, Jacob, Devone, Tyrel and Ze'Anna Adelgren all of Kiantone; 6 great grandchildren Matthew, Emily, Brandon, Nathan and Adam Kindland and Annika Ueland and a sister Betty Ann Johnson of Sarasota, FL.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Kindland, whom she married April 5, 1942 and who died February 6, 2001 and a brother Robert Swanson in 1994.
A private graveside memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Visitation will not be observed.
