Obituary of Leslie E. Gluszak

Leslie E. Gluszak, 60, of 2650 Route 394, Ashville, formerly of Cheektowaga and Olean, NY died at 6:08 a.m. Friday, August 23, 2013 in WCA Hospital. She was born March 23, 1953 in Washington, DC, a daughter of the late Richard Kennedy and Carolyn Kennedy Strade. Leslie had been employed in former years in Buffalo as an executive secretary for a Jewish Synagogue, as well as manager of a Burger King Restaurant. She later worked as an automobile salesperson in Ellicottville and Olean. In earlier years Leslie was very involved with both Little League and the Cub Scouts in Cheektowaga. She was presently a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lakewood. Leslie loved to crochet and had made many outfits for her children and grandchildren. She was an avid reader and true animal lover. She is survived by her husband, Thomas D. Gluszak whom she married April 15, 1972; two sons: Thomas Andrew (Jeanette) Gluszak of Winchester, VA and William M. (Janine) Gluszak of Cheektowaga; six grandchildren: Ethan, Alexandra and Lucy Gluszak of Winchester, and David, Kailey and Lillian Gluszak of Cheektowaga; three sisters: Carol Peterson of Olean, Kathy Gross of Buffalo and Lauraine Ross of Olean; and three brothers: Michael Strade, Christopher Strade and Douglas Strade, all of Olean. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. Msgr. Joseph M. Dowdell will be celebrant. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the Lind Funeral Home, where a Christian Wake Service will be led at 4:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Rd., Jamestown, NY 14701; or to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 380 E.
