Obituary of Howard G. Lingenfelter

Howard G. Lingenfelter Jr., 71, of 232 Huxley St. Jamestown, died Friday August 23, 2013 in WCA Hospital. He was born October 26, 1941 in Jamestown the son of H. Grant and Helen Mickelson Lingenfelter Sr. Howard was a graduate of Jamestown High School. Prior to his retirement, he worked at Crawford Furniture, and previously at Crescent Tool. He was a member of the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club, enjoyed watching wrestling on TV, and he loved animals. An avid sports fan, he followed the Buffalo Bills and Jamestown Jammers. Surviving besides his mother of Jamestown are, a brother, James R. Lingenfelter of Fort Myers Beach, FL; three sisters, Lynda J. (Robert) Griffin of Kentucky; Karen (Steve) Peterson of West Ellicott; Holly Thompson of Jamestown; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father who died February 9, 1999. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Samuel Shreffler will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
