Obituary of Loraine Z. Asper

Loraine Zoe Asper, 83, of Bemus Point, NY, passed away at 11:28 a.m. Monday (September 9, 2013) in W.C.A. Hospital. A lifelong resident of Bemus Point, she was born June 22, 1930 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late Louis O. and Alice Russell Farrell. She attended the Bemus Point Central Schools. In earlier years she was employed by the former Jamestown Lounge Company and later by the former Sherman Brothers. Before her retirement in 1984, she was employed as a bus driver for the Bemus Point Central School System for 19 years. She was a longtime member of a group of girlfriends called "The Club" for 66 years. She really enjoyed the time spent at the many dinners and luncheons with her friends. Surviving are her three children; Paula K. (John) Kuhns, Lori A. Scott both of Bemus Point, Phillip J. (Kathy Heald) Asper of Virginia Beach, VA, seven grandchildren; Jody (Dennis ) Schang of TN, Julie (Travis) Klein of VA, Nichole (Dan) Kraus of NY, Jordan Dongarra, David Dongarra both of OH, Jamie (Mark) Snyder of PA, Louis (Tia) Asper of VA, nine great grandchildren; Max and Megan Schang of TN, Taylor and Joshua Klein of VA, Kei-lani Asper and Mark Snyder, III of PA, Tyree, Aric and Loryn Asper of VA and a sister Barbara Spencer of Bemus Point. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Milton Ira Asper whom she married January 10, 1947 and who died October 26, 2009. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed. Inurnment will be in the Bemus Point Cemetery. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Bemus Point Fire Department, 13 Alburtus Ave. Bemus Point, NY 14712.
