Obituary of Undine L. MacDougall

Undine "Deanie" L. MacDougall, 95, passed away Monday, September 16, 2013, in her residence in Lakewood. She was born December 31, 1917, in Santa Barbara, CA, the daughter of the late Harry and Helena Mills Dawson. Her family moved to Erie, PA when she was three years old. She was a 1935 graduate of Strong Vincent High School and later studied to be a beautician. She met her husband, Donald MacDougall while working in Bradford, PA. They married in 1943 and following WWII settled in Lakewood, NY. The world has lost a sweet, honest and loving person who always carried herself with dignity. She was dearly loved by many. Deanie enjoyed antiquing, gardening, sewing and playing cards. More than any of that, she cherished the time spent with her daughter Laura and grandchildren Nicholas and Teddie. Surviving are her daughter Laura (Robert Morris)Vario; two grandchildren Nicholas (Stephanie) McBride and Teddie Morris; a great granddaughter Jordan McBride; nieces Faith (James) Ostrom and Sylvia Dawson; nephews Edwin (Ann) Dawson and Jeffrey Dawson; five grand nieces and nephews and eight great grand nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Donald S. MacDougall who died in 1994 and two brothers Thomas and Harold (Lucille) Dawson. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Sunset Hill Cemetery Chapel. Visitation will not be observed. Memorials may be made to First Church of Christ Scientists, Jamestown, NY.
