In the short 5 years that our paths crossed,we sure squeezed a lot of fish into coolers! The last time we parted,Aug 1st,he insisted on a departing hug. He was concerned about his upcoming surgery-but knew he had to do it. What a tragedy to his family and friends that it backfired. My Ohio fishing partners and I will be forever grateful to have known Capt. Dave!

I didn't know David that well, but his wife was my english teacher. The only time i got to realy know him was at my first wedding, he danced with me during the dollar dance. From talking with Mrs. caloren, I know that he was a great man, father and husband.

Sending deepest sympathy to Phyllis, Dave's children, sisters, and extended families. Dave was a friend and a classmate and of mine, a talented athlete, and a very popular guy. Later Dave became a special friend to my brother, John, and he and Phyllis took time out of their schedules to travel to Heuvelton at the time of John's burial in order to pay tribute and to support our family because that's the kind of guy Dave was. Although George and I cannot be there to attend Dave's funeral, please know we are thinking of Dave and his family at this difficult time. May Dave rest in peace and may his family find comfort in the wonderful memories he has left us with. He was truly a good man and will be missed by all whose lives he touched. Rest in eternal peace, Dave, and blessings to your family.

Dave was my HERO! He was always there for me, and also expressed how proud of me he was, when others never noticed! He was my true friend, and I considered him my dad when I had no one else to fit the bill. He was an honorable man that gave his all to James, and never turned a blind eye. That was just Dave. In my last conversation with him, we spoke of getting together after his trip to Cleveland. But now, I see that God had another plan! He must of been needed in heaven! It gives my heart great pleasure to know he is now in the arms of our Lord. I know he is looking down on all of us is peace, and I now have a garduian angel! Rest Dave, your work here is done. I will always hold a huge place in my heart ! I miss you already!! Love you forever, Shell! ( his nickname for me) Michele Kasperek
