Obituary of Ruth E. Joslyn

Ruth E. Joslyn, 84, formerly of the Dutch Hollow Rd. Bemus Point, passed away at 12:10 p.m. Wednesday, September 25, 2013, in the Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. A lifelong area resident she was born July 6, 1929 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late John and Selma Munson Clauson. She was a graduate of the Jamestown School of Practical Nursing and had previously been employed by the Chautauqua County Home, the Lutheran Home and W.C.A. Hospital. Before her retirement she was employed by the J.N. Adam Developmental Center in Perrysburg, NY. She was a member of the Bemus Point United Methodist Church and was active with the Sinclairville 76ers and the Mayville Senior Citizens. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family. Surviving are four daughters; Paula E. (Andrew) Lawrence of Bemus Point, NY, Christine M. Urbanik of Land o Lakes, FL, Mary K. (Steve) Hawkins of Dade City, FL, Barbara A. (David) Robbins of Sinclairville, NY, a son Stephen (Delia) Joslyn of Lockport, NY, 15 grandchildren 14 great grandchildren and a sister Elsie Colander of Jamestown, NY. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Gordon R. Joslyn whom she married April 29, 1950 and who died October 6, 2003 and three brothers Edward, Arthur and Norman Clauson. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Samuel Shreffler, chaplain of Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility will officiate. Burial will be in the Red Bird Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Wayside Chapel, 5537 Route 380, Sinclairville, NY 14782
