Obituary of Karen K. Nickles

Karen K. Nickles, 69, of Jamestown, died unexpectedly Thursday September 26, 2013 in her home. She was born June 11, 1944 in Cleveland, OH the daughter of the late James and Lola Swatfigure Fritz. Karen was a 1962 graduate of Falconer High School. For many years, she worked as a customer service manager at Zayre's. She also worked at Lake County Dairy, Tops, D & K, and as a security guard at Keywell VacAir. She loved to crochet and make afghans and dolls as gifts and to be sold at craft shows. She was also an avid reader, and enjoyed floral arranging. Karen was always there for her children, not missing anything they were involved in. She will be missed by her family, friends, and her beloved dog, Molly. Surviving are her husband, Ellery G. Nickles whom she married August 27, 1965; three children, James D. (Millie) Willis of Belmont, NC; Timothy C. (Alison) Nickles of Rocky Hill, CT; Kathleen A. (Ken) Nickles Torrey of Jamestown; four grandchildren, Ryan P. Eagan, Morgan P. Torrey, Jordan K. Nickles, Johnny Roberts; and a great granddaughter, Abigail Branch. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Daniel Fritz. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Robert E. Reeves will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home.
