Obituary of Josephine M. Trippi

Josephine M. Trippi, 81, of 128 Maple Street Jamestown, went home to be with the Lord Monday September 30, 2013 surrounded by her family. She was born May 25, 1932 in Jamestown the daughter of the late Bernardo and Marie Filomena Pollaro Sr. For many years, she worked at Valones, The Litehouse, and the Claire Vi Dress Shop. Josephine was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Marco Polo Women's Auxiliary and the Italian Dancers Club. Josephine enjoyed baking and cooking, especially the traditional Italian Sunday dinner for her family. She continued this family tradition and passed it on to the next generation. Her grandchildren were the love of her life. She lived for them. Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Samuel C. Trippi; a daughter, Lynn (Thomas Sr.) Langworthy of West Ellicott; five grandchildren, Thomas (Amy) Langworthy Jr., Lindsay (Paul) Pappalardo, Matthew Langworthy, all of Jamestown; Allison Langworthy of Lakewood; Patrick Langworthy, a student at Fredonia; one great grandson, Noah Langworthy; a niece, Julie Ann Spaulding who spent countless hours caring for her Aunt; two brother in laws, Nicholas DeMarco Sr. of Buffalo; Anthony (Cecilia) Trippi of Cambria, CA; a sister in law, Jodi (Kenneth) Perhai of Sarasota, FL; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Lucille DeMarco; and two brothers, James (Esther) Pollaro, and Bernard J. (Beatrice D.) Pollaro Jr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy, pastor, will be celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home where a Christian Wake Service will be led at 5 p.m. Memorials may be made to Hospice Chautauqua County 20 W Fairmount Ave Lakewood, NY 14750.
