Obituary of Florence E. Larson

Florence E. Larson, 85, of 65 Stewart Ave, passed away Sunday October 13, 2013, in Buffalo General Hospital, Buffalo, NY. A Jamestown resident since 1951, she was born August 22, 1928 in Post Allegany, PA a daughter of the late Oscar and Selma Rydell Johnson. She was a 1946 graduate of Port Allegany High School. Florence was a long time member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ and she enjoyed participating in activities with her church family. Her life was centered around providing for her children and grandchildren and she loved to garden around her home. Surviving are her two sons; Mark A. Larson of Jamestown, NY, Thomas J. (Christena) Larson of Newark Valley, NY, five grandchildren; Jason Larson of Buffalo,NY, St,Sgt. Kristopher (Jennifer) Urquhart of Marysville, CA, Joseph Urquhart of Estes Park, CO, Becky (David) Graham of Yuba City, CA, Rhonda (Michael) LaBlanc of Chesapeke, VA and a sister in law Margaret Johnson. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John W. "Jack" Larson whom she married September 17, 1949 and who died April 3, 2002, a grandson Joshua J. Larson who died March 8, 2011, four sisters; Agnes M. Johnson, Jennie E. James, Ruth A. Johnson, Edith J. Widen and five brothers; Albert B. Johnson, Carl A. Johnson, Roy M. Johnson, Verner W. Johnson and Walter H. Johnson. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Hugh Pratt, interim pastor of First Congregational United Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.
