Obituary of Brenda M. Hanson

Brenda M. Hanson, 60, of 1981 Winch Road, Lakewood, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2013 in Buffalo General Hospital. An area resident most of her life, she was born August 25, 1953 in Jamestown, a daughter of Roberta "Bobbie" Dickson Lillie and the late Frederick J. Lillie. In earlier years, Brenda had been employed by Monarch Plastics. Her family will always remember Brenda's love of animals. She will also be greatly missed by her early morning swimming friends at the Boys and Girls Club. Brenda particularly enjoyed her friends at and was very active in a spiritual group that so enriched her life. In addition to her mother of Lakewood, surviving are her sister, Nancy (Gary) Ferguson of Jamestown and brother, Bruce (Denise) Lillie of Seymour, Tenn. Brenda also loved her nieces and nephews, Leigh Ann and Andrew of California, Lindsay of Vermont, and Chad, Logan and Hayden of Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her father who died November 27, 2004. A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced by the Lind Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Rd., Jamestown, NY 14701; or to the Mental Health Association of Chautauqua County, 31 Water St., Jamestown, NY 14701.
