Obituary of William A. Weber
William A. "Bill" Weber, 85, of 751 Kiantone Road, Jamestown, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2013 at the Gates Vascular Institute in Buffalo.
He was the husband of Ann Younie Weber, whom he married October 1, 1955.
Bill was born August 22, 1928 in Sugar Grove, Pa., a son of the late Fredrick and Eliza Zurcher Weber, and graduated from Lander High School in 1946. He served in the US Army from 1950 to 1952.
In earlier years, Bill worked for the former Jamestown Veneer and Plywood. He was then employed for 37 years by the S.M. Flickinger Co., retiring in 1991.
He belonged to the Retired Teamsters and the Sugar Grove American Legion.
Bill loved to travel and together with his wife, Ann, had traveled to all 48 continental United States and nine foreign countries. At home, he was a voracious reader, enjoyed working on small engines and his Gravely tractors, and always looked forward to Saturday morning coffee klatch with his friends.
In addition to his wife, surviving is his daughter, Valerie Weber of Kiantone, several nieces and nephews, as well as family in Switzerland.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Walter, Fred and Otto Weber, and two sisters, Mary Cole and Hilda Arroyo.
No funeral service or visitation will be observed.
